What connection(s) do I need for Nightwave Analog?
The Nightwave Analog receives power, and outputs video through a combined analog video / power cable. (Video can also be streamed via WiFi to the SIONYX mobile app, but you will still need to use the combined cable to supply 12v power to the Nightwave Analog).
The 5 meter video cable (already connected to the Nightwave Analog) is terminated with an SMA connector. There are longer and shorter combined cables available to purchase here.
The Nightwave Analog includes adapters to convert the SMA to BNC (left) and RCA (right) video output connections:
To receive analog video from the Nightwave Analog, your Multi-Function Display (MFD) requires an analog input. Check your MFD compatibilityhere.
Some SIMRAD models need an additional proprietary SIMRAD cable. Check your model to see if it has composite video port (C) and then you will need to purchase the
SIMRAD NSE Video/Communications Cable (part number 000-00129-001) available from Simrad and Marine supply retailers
You will need this SIMRAD NSE cable and the 2 adaptors that come with the Nightwave (SMA-to-BNC, and BNC-to-RCA).
If you get a black screen, you might need to switch the video source setting on the SIMRAD settings from one RCA input to the other; or you can move the cable to the other RCA jack.
The Nightwave Analog also comes with a 3m USB cable. This is included for troubleshooting purposes, but it can be used on the Nightwave Analog as if it was a webcam. The computer will need to be UVC-enabled (Windows/Linux) and have a Powered USB port on a Laptop (not Tablet).
